Making Films
One Challenge at a time
Welcome to BlackRoad Studios, a YouTube channel designed to be equal parts Entertaining, Educational and Inspiring.
The pitch for the channel is to make all the content "Challenge" based.
Sponsors and viewers will have the opportunity to pitch a challenge that can be either based around use of a sponsor product or service, or added to a challenge wheel that can be randomly spun.
The channel will be focused on filmmaking and making projects come to life, regardless of the constraints and how constantly making projects is the best way to learn, experiment and grow.
About Me
My name is Barry and I am an independent filmmaker based in Ireland.
I spent 17 years working full time in the Pharma industry here in Ireland while also woking part time making films and learning everything I could about the process.
In that time I have created 5 independent feature films & almost 40 short films and music videos with a wonderful bunch of talented individuals all around Ireland.
In 2024, I left my career in Pharma to chase the dream of making films full time and in 2025 I decided to start this YouTube channel
In May of 2026 I will be turning 40 and to celebrate this, I am challenging myself to make 12 short films in 12 months. This challenge will be the Core of the BlackRoad Studios YouTube channel
